TRANSLATORIUM is an institution that creates a space for diverse approaches to translation, influences the development of the translation community, and responds effectively to the challenges of the field.

Translation as a Worldview: This is our way of thinking and being as an organization, where translation goes beyond a linguistic practice to become a method of understanding, interaction, and meaning-making. It is open to unexpected solutions and experiments, capable of taking the form of a performance, object, action, or process. In a broader sense, it is constantly reinterpreted as something that can be many things at once — from engaging with communities to crossing language, art, and experience. It is precisely at these intersections that a new perspective on translation practice emerges.

Community Orientation: We are committed to acting together, creating spaces for encounters and collaboration, where translation is not only content but also a way of being together. At the same time, we remain sensitive to the experiences and voices of every individual in our team and community.

Cultural Diplomacy: This is our strategy for international engagement, presenting Ukrainian culture and telling about contemporary Ukraine through translation and interdisciplinary projects.

Decentralization: We are committed to creating projects beyond major cultural centers, shaping a more diverse and distributed map of Ukraine’s cultural landscape.

Dignity: This is a foundation of our ethics. We work honestly and openly, aware of our contribution and responsibility as a civil organization, and remain true to our convictions.
